Parkville is just minutes from the Baltimore city lines, but also convenient to the neighboring corporate hubs of White Marsh, Towson, and Hunt Valley. Most homes in Parkville are quaint craftsman style cottages and cape cods, although duplexes and row houses are also available. As condo living continues to become more and more popular in the Baltimore area, a number of newer condominiums have also appeared in Parkville.

There is no shortage of things to do in and around Parkville, with its close proximity to Baltimore, Towson, and White Marsh. Shoppers flock to Towson for its four floors of retail shops including Nordstrom, Crate and Barrel, and Macy's, while the Avenue at White Marsh is popular for its wide array of restaurants, movie theaters, and clothiers.

As part of the Baltimore County Public School District, Parkville students enjoy the benefits of an education from one of Maryland's top rated school districts. Students in Parkville attend Carney, Harford Hills, Villa Cresta, and Oakleigh Elementary Schools, Parkville Middle School, and Parkville High School, which features a competitive magnet program for math and science. Highly regarded Towson University is also nearby and many Towson graduates call Parkville home.
