Located just outside the Baltimore City limits in Baltimore County, Middle River is an affordable, water view community situated near the communities of Rosedale, Essex, and Bowley's Quarters. Although the area was once dominated by smaller homes which housed the Glen L. Martin Factory workers, recently the allure of the waterfront has sparked a renewed interest in the area.
New construction town homes and luxury single family dwellings with brick facades are now available as an alternative to the 1940's era homes. In addition to its close proximity to Baltimore's downtown business district, with easy access via I-695, Middle River is just minutes from the growing corporate and commercial hub of White Marsh.
Heavily developed in the 1930's and 1940's, Middle River and neighboring Essex experienced a population boom due to the success of the Glen L. Martin Company. With such an important place in Middle River's history, the aviation company now maintains state of the art museum within the town.
