Located in highly desirable Anne Arundel County, Hanover, is a fast growing area popular for its convenient location, relatively affordable, yet upscale housing, and wide array of nearby recreational activities. Since 2000, Hanover has gone through a period of rapid development, starting with the opening of the expansive Arundel Mills Mall and several corporate campuses. The mall is not only a premiere shopping destination for people from all over Ann Arundel County and beyond, it is an employer for many workers in the area.
Two new housing developments built since the mall opened are the Villages of Dorchester and Arundel Preserve. These neighborhoods, like many others in Hanover, place an emphasis on a community lifestyle with an eye toward luxury and most feature a central clubhouse, shared swimming pools, recreational fields, and walking trails. Homes in the area are typically large single family brick colonials with spacious open floor plans, hardwood floors, and modern kitchens, however condominium and town homes are also available.
