Located in popular Howard County, Glenwood is a rapidly growing small town of 3,000 residents. Pre-existing and new construction homes come in a variety of styles, from luxurious brick estate homes with large Palladian windows and open floor plans, to ranchers with shaded lots, and farmhouses with neatly manicured lawns.
Glenwood is a relatively new neighborhood, which developed as more and more commuters looked to Howard County for its convenient location between Baltimore and Washington, and most homes are under 25 years old. Prior to Glenwood's development, the area was rural farmland, much of which still surrounds the area today.
Although Glenwood is primarily a residential community, it is located just minutes from the large suburb of Columbia, home to many popular retail shopping destinations including the Columbia Mall. In addition, Columbia features many options for entertainment including several cinemas, over 100 restaurants, and a number of theatres. Glenwood boasts its own acclaimed Cattail Creek Country Club, where golfers enjoy one of the top 10 courses in the state of Maryland.
Glenwood residents benefit from living in Maryland's best school district. Top ranked schools, including Glenwood Middle and Bushy Park Elementary are two of the local schools included in the award-winning Howard County School System.
