Suwanee is located in Gwinnett County and is home to more than 12,000 residents. The town is located 30 miles north of Atlanta and is accessibly by Interstate 85. The city's historic buildings have been well preserved and visitors and residents will enjoy viewing grand Victorian and regional farm-style home in Suwanee's Old Town area, where the historic commercial area is located as well. The Old Town area remains much as it must have appeared nearly 100 years ago. Some buildings in the area were reconstructed after an 1881 fire and others were built in the early 1900s.
Students in Suwanee will attend schools in the Gwinnett County Public Schools system which is the largest in Georgia.
