Located off of Georgia 400, the city is just 30 miles north of downtown Atlanta. Residents enjoy the convenience of being accessible to ballgames, plays and events in the city and yet still remain close to the rural feel of nearby Georgia mountains and lakes. The proximity of Cumming to Lake Lanier and the mountains of North Georgia make Cumming and Forsyth County a great place to live and work.
Cumming's location and convenience to Georgia 400 gives residents endless choices for shopping and dining. The system is comprised of 27 schools - sixteen elementary, six middle, three high schools, as well as one alternative school for middle and high school students, and a charter non-traditional high school. In response to tremendous growth in the area, the system has plans to open four additional schools.
