Bremen was incorporated in 1883 as Kramer, after a local vineyard owner of German descent. However, at his request, the name was later changed to Bremen to pay homage to Bremen, Germany. In 2000, the US Census recorded a population of 4,579 in this Georgia town rooted in German heritage. Known for being a railroad junction, the town has grown to become the largest city in Haralson County. The town is located 43 miles west of Atlanta.
Bremen has experienced tremendous growth in recent years and still continues to unfold as a thriving area, welcoming progress and change.
