Families will enjoy sharing afternoons of fun at area parks together. Calvin Farmer Park is a beautiful seven-acre park with two picnic pavilions, a children's playground, a duck pond, open fields and wooded areas with a small stream running thru the center. It also features a performance stage available for public use and concerts. The adjoining Community Center Complex is a 6,000 square foot community building is available for rent, and is surrounded by free use areas consisting of a softball field, tennis courts and a basketball court. Surrounding wooded green space is perfect for hiking and relaxing. Residents will have a great time fellowshipping with neighbors at community events such as the Heritage Days Festival which takes place during the month of May. Families will enjoy arts, crafts, music and food in downtown Ball Ground.

Cherokee County offers the finest in public school curricula and there are also a number of outstanding private schools within driving distance. Ball Ground Elementary, established in the early 1900s, has a rich history and is a source of pride for the city.
