Housing Market Trends Show Signs of Improvement

After a few months of decelerating home sales price trends, the tide might be turning − or at least stabilizing − in the real estate market, based on ZipRealty’s latest analysis of key housing market trends. Median home sale prices rose 11.9% in the month ended Dec. 15, 2013 compared to the same period of 2012, and that’s just over half a percentage point stronger growth than in the 30-day period ended Nov. 30, 2013. The median sales price in the metros analyzed by ZipRealty was approximately $267,000 as of mid-December 2013.
