ZipRealty Seattle Volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House

At the end of June, a group of ZipRealty agents in Seattle volunteered at the Seattle Ronald McDonald house. They cooked a huge dinner for all the families staying at home supporting a loved one battling cancer. What an awesome way to give back to the community!

Here are some photos and quotes from the event:

It was great to work with a team of ZipRealty Agents so willing to give back to the community and especially families in need.  The Seattle team regularly commit to do volunteer work within the community, and the Ronald McDonald House is one of our favorite charities.  Most of us have children, or have a child we are close to.  We understand the value and role the Ronald McDonald house plays in the lives of families with sick children.  It was easy to gather a group of volunteers willing to cook a hot meal for nearly 100 children and adults staying at the home. - Lori Midttun, Century Club Member and Ronald McDonald House Organizer for ZipRealty

Having had a child of my own spend time as an infant at Children's Hospital, the very existence of Ronald McDonald House is amazing!

During the day to day details of real estate, sometimes our own priorities get lost.  The evening at Ronald McDonald house was a great experience and a reminder of how truly blessed we are. It was a lot of work, but the "return on investment" was a hundred-fold. - Bonnie Terry, ZipRealty Broker, Century Club Member, President’s Club Member

My mother is a two-time cancer survivor, and much of that "victory" is due to the excellent care that she received, both clinically and through family. I want all families who are in battle with cancer to have the support and comfort that they need to put up their best fight.

Also, my oldest daughter, Stephanie, was the recipient of a Ronald McDonald scholarship your freshman year at UDub, which was a major blessing to her and to our family. She has always had a heart to serve others and we had the opportunity to serve at RMH - together - and that felt like a full-circle blessing. She has volunteered through a wide variety of worthy organizations for the last 10 years and she inspired me to serve at RHM annually. - Emily Howell, ZipRealty Broker

Knowing that we were there to help others really meant something special.  Seeing the children smile as they tried to take these huge pieces of cake was a warming sight; we all knew they were going through some hard times and to bring a smile to their faces really touched all of us.  Every time we volunteer like this, it reminds me that what we get, we can make a living; what we give, makes a life.  Shane Greene, Designated Broker / Director for  ZipRealty Seattle
