Using a Tablet App to Find Homes For Sale
A tablet can be a great asset when you’re searching for real estate. Tablet devices are becoming increasingly more popular, and there’s a bunch you can choose from. A few months ago, we ran a post comparing the new iPad and the Nexus 7 - did we mention our app runs on both devices? - and one of the standout features of the Nexus 7 was its portability. Being able to hold the app in one hand and pinch, select, and swipe with the other offers a considerable user advantage. Now that the iPad mini is out, the Nexus 7 has some serious competition.
Why use a tablet when searching for a home? Here are our top reasons:
1. More real estate - quite literally!
Because of the sheer difference in screen size between a smartphone and a tablet, you can see much more of the map view on a tablet than on the phone. It will allow you to see more at once, get a better idea of what’s selling where, and for how much.
2. Get the bigger picture
Obvious, but totally a perk - photos are going to be large on an iPad. That means that whether you’re viewing photos of a home from your couch, or snapping photos on a visit, it’ll be easier to get a feel of the homes you’re looking at.
3. Super-easy to tote around
Whether you have a full-size tablet or generally use a laptop or desktop computer, a small tablet like the Nexus 7 or the iPad mini is a perfect companion when you’re out looking at homes. It’s easy to slip into your purse or backpack, gives you all the info you need on one screen (rather than lots of scrolling), and is easy to use, carry, and refer to.
Plus, we’re giving away iPad minis to a handful of lucky people who download our app and sign into their ZipRealty account with the app as part of our New Year, New Toy contest - learn more about how you can win!
