Ski Retreats to Swoon For

Presidents Weekend! In all places where enough snow has collected, so too collect the skiers who wait for this 3-day weekend to hit the slopes. In honor of these intrepid, who will surely fight traffic, volatile weather and crowded lifts, we offer a look into the world of luxury ski chalets around the world. You know the ones: they come with private access to the Earth’s best skiing... not to mention hot tubs, pools, 20 foot ceilings and panoramic views.

Enjoy a vacation (stay-cation?)  at these high, high-end ski chalets, 100% free—with no traffic or crying kids or depressing long lines. All you need is a love of alpine beauty and perhaps, of fantasy.

We start in Vail, Colorado for breakfast on a patio overlooking snow-dusted mountains. Here we see our view. 

After a day of skiing, we travel again, then repair to our theater in Deer Valley, Utah, for private screenings of as many ski-realted movies as we can stand.

Then we’ll rest our head in this ridiculously gorgeous bedroom, because we need a good night’s sleep before our journey tomorrow.

In the morning, we fly to Chamonix, France, for martinis and snowboarding in modern luxury.

From there, it’s a short hop to the Switzerland, so we’ll stop over to ski the Matterhorn views generally  indulge ourselves.

Finally, back to France, for a massage, a French gourmet meal, and an overnight in Chalet Atlantique in Courchevel, resting on the a fesh, unsullied blanket of snow some 1850 meters above sea level.
