Going Green in Seattle 2012
by Andrew Saldana.
I like to think of Seattle real estate as pioneering, or at least a being front-runner in the Go Green Movement that is steadily gaining popularity across the nation and world for that matter. Sustainability is the overall theme in the Green Movement - It’s overdue time to ask ourselves; ‘How can we participate to make a difference?’
Just recently the GoGreen Conference came into Seattle April 25th for a one-day sustainability conference offering the best in green practices for business owners, leaders and decision makers. The GoGreen Conference is touring 5 very influential cities in the Green Movement in 2012, which includes Seattle, Austin, New York City, Portland and Phoenix. You can learn more about the Seattle Conference via the city specific website below.
Going Green… What does that mean to you? It can be as easy as swapping out your bulbs in your home with CFLs or LEDs, which will not only save you money on your energy bill, but more importantly reduce your home’s global warming footprint and conserve energy. Explore the money-saving perks of a Hybrid car, public transportation and better than that - bike it! (super green and great exercise). Implementing reusable water bottles and scrapping the plastic is a huge step in the right direction! These are just a few of the many ways you can participate.

Reduce, Recycle, Reuse is the name of the game - It’s all about the Three R’s!
At the end of the day the important question to ask yourselves is… ‘What did I do to make my neighborhood a better place to call home?’ We can all make a difference, the key is to actively participate… Let’s keep Seattle Going Green in 2012 and beyond!
Next week I’m going to discuss how you, can take some proactive steps to make your home a little more eco-friendly.
