Capitol Hill Block Party 2012
Capitol Hill is a neighborhood of neighborhoods, radiating with distinction and diversity. “The Hill” is overflowing with hipsters and creatives of every shape and size. Capitol Hill has personality to spare. Part old money, part counterculture, this quirky metropolis - in all its funky-come-as-you-are glory - is uniquely Seattle. This holds true especially so this coming weekend (7/20-7/22) as The 2012 Capitol Hill Block Party kicks off!
The Block Party is an annual music festival that draws upon and showcases the best indie and underground rock in the US, with a special focus on Northwest artists. Launched 11 years ago, the Block Party has evolved into one of Seattle’s most anticipated outdoor music festivals. This year CHBP will showcase over 100 of the best Northwest and national bands and DJ’s. These bands will spread out among 6 stages for an ultimate three day music experience surrounded by all the great amenities you get in the middle of our beautiful city! CHBP is all about independent music and culture, thought, and progressive politics. Also featured will be excellent independent craft booths, food trucks, local non-profits, introductions to local pro-music politicians, and most importantly raise money for The Vera Project (www.theveraproject.org) and KEXP (www.kexp.org), as well the neighborhood and various other charities.
If you’re contemplating a move to Capitol Hill you owe it yourself to drop by this weekend to get a front row glimpse into the heart of life on “The Hill”. As a resident of Capitol Hill for the past 2 1/2 years I personally recommend it!
Advance tickets are available until July 20th and at the gate, the day of the show on a first come, first serve basis. For additional info go to capitolhillblockparty.com/faq/
*Note: The last three years of the festival have sold out, and this year their lowering capacity each day and the number of tickets available, so it’s encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
