Three things first-time homebuyers can check out in San Diego

First time homebuyers often have a lot on their plate when trying to find a suitable metro area for relocation. Public transportation, local amenities and the financial environment must all be closely scrutinized. If the people have any children, they must look at educational and daycare facilities as well. Before seriously considering one of the homes for sale in San Diego, first time homebuyers should take a trip to the greater metro area and check out some of the following attractions.

Beaches

San Diego is well known for its expansive stretches of beaches along the Pacific Coast, and there is no better way to get a feel for the community than spending a day or two on one of these sandy shores. Two of the best beaches in the city are Mission Beach and Coronado Beach.

Mission Beach is divided into two sections (North and South) and frequently visited by the younger crowd in San Diego. If nightclubs, clothing boutiques and other trendy stores are your forte, head to the north end of Mission. The farther south you go, the more relaxed things get - the southern end of the boardwalk is home to sailing schools, fisherman's posts and recreational beaches.

Coronado Beach is separated into three areas - North Beach, Central Beach, and The Shores. The north section has the best waves for surfing, and has specific dog parks for people with pets. Central is the most traditional beach and is a popular tourist spot, while The Shores is geared toward longer-term visitors, with great hotels and shops.

The Casbah

This rock and roll venue has been open since 1989 and has hosted well-known acts ranging from Nirvana to The Smashing Pumpkins. If you love live music, this is one of the premier performance spots in all of San Diego. Be sure to snag a ticket for a local band showcase to immerse yourself in the regional music scene.

If you are a musician, it is likely that you'll be able to play here eventually - the spot is famous for hosting local bands and performers.

Old Town Trolley Tour

Finally, the Old Town Trolley Tour is the best way to evaluate the downtown and outlying areas of San Diego. The tour guides also give helpful tips that you may not have gathered on your own. You can see nearly every aspect of the city from inside a trolley, and it's a great way to get a feel for the way everything is spaced out.
