The accolades were based on more than 5 million reviews from users of OpenTable, an online dining reservation company. Over 15,000 restaurants were judged and two local Sacramento establishments made the list.

Carpe Vino in Auburn and Enotria Restaurant Winebar in Sacramento earned national recognition for their quality wine lists, according to the news source. Carpe Vino, which is Latin for seize the wine, provides guests with access to a community of restaurants and bars that are housed in structures built in the early 1850s. Members of the wine club have access to an extensive menu and many wine tasting events and other events.

The Enotria Restaurant Winebar has served Sacramento residents for over 14 years. The property underwent a renovation in 2010 to provide guests an even more entertaining evening eating contemporary California cuisine and sipping quality wines. Over 700 unique wines are housed at the location and the establishment works to provide visitors with wine and food that will complement each other.

Local wines impress
Sacramento residents may find the local wines delight their palettes more than chain brands. According to Sacramento Magazine's Wine of the Week article, Ursa Vineyards' 2007 Major Red, Sierra Foothills wows the taste buds. The wine is a blend of Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah with blackberry, plum and cherry flavors.

The winery offers two complimentary tastes of the brand's wines for those who wish to visit the tasting room. The small foothill production only creates 2,500 cases a year.
