A night on the town in Richmond
Moving into one of the homes for sale in Richmond was undoubtedly exhausting. Even if you hired movers to do all the heavy lifting, all of the organization, packing and emotion that goes into moving can be a headache. Therefore, once you get settled and have a chance to explore your new surroundings, consider making a night of it and enjoying the River City.
Spending an evening out and about in downtown Richmond is a great way to get to know the city. Start off your evening by doing a little shopping in Carytown. Known as the "mile of style," it's full of little shops and boutiques that will be fun to browse with your loved one or friends. Next, head to Historic Shockoe Bottom to dine at one of the fine eateries there. Whether you're in the mood for steak, seafood or simply a slice of pizza, the restaurants lining these cobblestone streets have it all.
Finally, end the night by catching a flick at the Byrd Theatre, located at 2908 West Cary Street. Built in 1928, this 1300-seat theater has elegance reminiscent of old Hollywood films. Today, you can watch a movie for only $1.99, and can also catch a Saturday night performance of the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ before the movie, just like when it first opened.
