You're not the only one moving to Raleigh
As you look at real estate in Raleigh-Durham, you're not the only one who's dealing with the headache of moving, unpacking and settling into a new home. That's because recent federal data has found that Raleigh-Cary has the eighth highest percentage of new residents in the country.
The Triangle Business Journal reports the U.S. Census Bureau 2010 American Community Survey found more than 54 percent of the residents in the area arrived at their current address after 2005. This makes Raleigh the top city for newcomers east of the Mississippi River. The city with the most new residents was Las Vegas, where three out of every five residents (61.8 percent) arrived at their current address after 2005.
However, what Raleigh lacks in casinos and show tunes it makes up in top-notch universities such as UNC Chapel Hill and Duke and an array of IT and financial services jobs. So it's no wonder people are getting swept away in the southern charm of Raleigh.
As a homebuyer looking at houses for sale in Raleigh-Durham, you can rest assured you're making a good decision moving to this beautiful city, and take comfort in the fact you're not the only new person in town!
