Home sales increase in the Triangle
It seems like home sales are on the rise all over the United States, and this is certainly no different among homes for sale in Raleigh-Durham. The Triangle has recently experienced a surge in the number of residential properties sold, according to May 2012 data from the Triangle Multiple Listing Services.
The Triangle Business Journal reports that home sales in the area increased by 25.7 percent in May 2012 by comparison to May 2011. The May 2012 data revealed 2,335 homes were sold throughout the month, up from 1,857 last year.
Last month, there was also a 2.2 percent increase in the median sales price, with that figure rising to hit $194,200. Whether this increase in home sales is due to the fact that the warm spring temperatures have North Carolina home buyers out and ready find their perfect homes for sale, or the continued trend of home affordability that is making home ownership possible for more people, this is a good sign for the local real estate market. It will certainly be exciting to see if these upward trends continue throughout the upcoming months and into next year.
