Civic improvements may make Hazel Dell one of Vancouver's best neighborhoods

Hazel Dell is one of the best neighborhoods for an investment in Vancouver, WA real estate, thanks to proposed civic improvements and other recent area changes.

Travel north a few exits on Interstate 5 and you'll arrive at this convenient neighborhood, split into North and South sections. With plenty of local shopping options, from Walmart to a movie theater, you won't need to make the trip to downtown Portland or central Vancouver for your daily errands.

One of the city's main roads, which leads from the shopping areas adjacent to the highway toward the residential streets further east, is slated to undergo significant improvements. The city is planning to sink $11.7 million into widening Northeast 88 Street between Highway 99 and St. Johns Road. In addition to widening this busy street, officials have also set aside part of the funding for improvements to the streetscape.

Homes for sale in Vancouver, WA near Hazel Dell will also benefit from the removal of a paint recycling center. Although the existing center wasn't reported to have been a significant hazard, moves such as this could prove to be an environmental boon for residents and improve the residential feel of the quieter parts of the neighborhood.
