Live near a senior center for an active lifestyle
If you’ve reached retirement but are not in the mood to just stay at home all day, consider moving to a neighborhood located near an active senior center. These community staples offer recreational, social and educational activities and a host of other things for those who are 60 years and older. Research the area as well as the people at the center, then use the MLS listings in Phoenix to find a home you can reside in for the years to come.
Here are two senior centers to consider when moving to Phoenix:
1. Adam Diaz Senior Center. Open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., this facility is located at 4115 West Thomas Road. It offers clubs and classes for a number of artistic activities. In addition, there are health and fitness classes, volunteer opportunities and transportation services. It is located between Glendale and Phoenix, two popular cities in Arizona.
2. McDowell Place Senior Center. Offering many similar activities, McDowell Place also organizes home-delivered meal programs for those who are unable to make it to the institution each day. The is located at 1845 E. McDowell Road, and is closer to Scottsdale.
