Glendale's coffee shops are one of a kind

In Glendale, a suburb just outside of Phoenix, coffee shops are more than a one-stop-shop for the caffeine-deprived - they have distinct characteristics. Homeowners looking for real estate in Phoenix and its surroundings can enjoy a kid-friendly cafe, kitschy bungalow coffeehouse or a made-to-order espresso at one of the area’s many cafes.

At PlayGrounds Fun Zone and Cafe, parents can join together for a fresh cup of coffee and a quiet conversation while their kids play in the indoor playground. Youngsters can climb through tunnels, venture down slides and jump around the matted jungle gym.

"It's definitely been a winning concept," owner James Bernau said, according to the Arizona Republic. "It's a great place for adults to gather with their friends and let the kids go play."

Mighty Cup N Spoon is a quaint bungalow on 57th Avenue in Glendale, with cute unmatched furniture and walls covered with knickknacks. This coffee shop has live entertainment on the weekends, including karaoke on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

At A Shot of Java, coffee is made to order for each guest, to ensure absolute freshness. This artisan shop also sells locally made baked goods and specialty biscotti.
