Get psyched for Halloween in Orlando

Universal Studios is taking its first leap into incorporating video games into events. The 2012 Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios now includes the frightening video game Silent Hill in one of the park’s haunted-house mazes, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Those that have purchased real estate in Orlando by September 21 will be able to easily attend the spooky event due to being in close proximity to the park.

"For the first time ever, we’re tackling a video-game franchise and bringing it to life at Halloween Horror Nights," said Jim Timon, senior vice president of entertainment at Universal Orlando, according to the source.

Other Halloween inspired events scheduled in Orlando during the month of October include the Freak Show Horror Film Festival. Held from October 26 to October 28, the seventh annual showcase will be held at 6001 Destination Parkway, according to The Orlando Tourism Bureau. The celebration will include up-and-coming horror filmmakers from around the world and aims to support the industry surrounding the genre.

If you’re a fan of Halloween, Orlando is one of the premier cities to be living in during the month of October.
