Orange County homebuying soars

Now may be a great time to purchase real estate in Orange County as homebuying in the area continued to soar during July 2012. According to The Orange County Register, July featured the largest yearly increase in sales in the past 40 months. 

The most recent report from DataQuick reveals that this was the best selling July for the local real estate market since July of 2005 and most dramatic year-over-year percent increase in sales since March 2009. The real estate analytics company also notes that were a total of 3,087 homes sold in Orange County and the median selling price was $450,000. This selling price was up 2.9 percent year-over-year and 12.5 percent since December 2011.

John Lanser, a real estate expert speaking with the source, describes the current Orange County housing mood as, "Go for the green." This is based on the fact that the percent median price change and the percent number sold change showed increases this both in both home and condo sales. Anyone hoping to buy or sell in Orange County may want to act now while the market is showing such positive signs.
