How has the OC housing market fared so far this year?

However, according to the latest report from DataQuick, this was the best-selling period seen during the first half of the year in Orange County since 2006.
During the first half of the year, 16,183 homes were sold in the OC - 11.3 percent higher than the same time a year ago, according to the Orange County Register. Furthermore, if history continues to repeat itself, the local real estate market should get even busier during the second half of the year. Historically, this period, July to December, has had around 7 percent more sales since 1988.
The median sales price in Orange County was $420,000 during the first six months of 2012 and the publication reveals 23 of 83 OC ZIP codes experienced an uptick in both sale prices and total sales. Therefore, now may be a great time invest in property in one of Orange County's beautiful communities.
