Summer activities for kids in Jacksonville
As you settle into one of the homes for sale in Jacksonville, you may be at a loss as to what you can do with your children around town. Summer is an excellent time to move to the sunny state of Florida because there are so many opportunities to be active and enjoy the warm weather.
One of the best ways to spend a summer afternoon with the kids is to visit the beach. Whether you simply spend the day teaching your children to build sandcastles or boogie-boarding in the surf, or if you visit one of the many local amenities, you'll never run out of family-friendly options when you're by the sea. For instance, consider watching a production by the Players-By-Sea Theatre, located at 106 Sixth Street North, or go fishing on the Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier at 504 North 1st Street.
Going to the park is also a nice way to enjoy time together as a family during the summer. Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park (500 Wonderwood Drive) and Mandarin Park (14780 Mandarin Road) are two of the most scenic parks in Jacksonville. Hanna Park offers lots to do, including a freshwater lake for canoeing and wooded camping sites.
