DIY Friday: Cinco de Mayo Edition

Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow, and you may be hosting a festive party or at least kicking back and enjoying some margaritas and tacos. This week's DIY feature is packed with projects for an outdoor get-together that's sure to please. Even if you don't have time for these this weekend, these are great ideas to brighten up your outdoor space for the coming summer months!

Start with a pergola...

Okay, this DIY project is definitely not for the faint of heart and is an intermediate project, but Popular Mechanics has a great step-by-step guide on how to make your own. If you've already got the right tools and lumber, this might be a great money-saver!

Add a table...

This pallet table is so cool! It's a lot easier to make than the pergola, and since it's on wheels, you can move it wherever you want the party to be happening!

Set the table for your guests...

This wooden placemat DIY is a great way to infuse your party with bright, fun colors! If you want more projects like this one, check Lowes' 50 Projects Under $50 pinboard!

Tie it all together with color...

I love these neon-painted pots by Dellie! For a cohesive look, paint your pots the same colors as the placemats. You can even fill them with herbs commonly used in Mexican dishes like cilantro!

Serve up the drinks and enjoy the party!

There isn't a guide for this one, but this sideboard we found floating around on Pinterest does look pretty easy to replicate!

Hope you all have a super and safe weekend.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
