Dallas home prices continue to rise

There are many signs a homebuyer might examine to determine whether he or she should relocate to a new metro. For instance, a potential property buyer could review the attractions, amenities and local neighborhoods to get a feel for what life is like in a particular area. While this research can be useful, additional data could further assist property buyers who are looking to buy one of the homes for sale in Dallas. In fact, a recent report revealed that home prices continued to rise in the metro, which is a positive sign for homebuyers.

According to the Fort-Worth Star-Telegram, the Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices showed that property prices increased 1.9 percent between April 2012 and May 2012 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Additionally, the cost of houses rose 3.8 percent when compared to rates from the same period last year.

"The fact that most regions...have seen gains in recent months is a positive sign that the gradual improvement in housing conditions is becoming broader based," Peter Newland, an economist at Barclays Capital, told the newspaper.

It could be worthwhile to purchase a home sooner rather than later in Dallas, as home prices continue to steadily improve.
