With Edgewater, Hyde Park and Lincoln Square making it to the semi-finals, Beverly emerged as the winner of the "neighborhood showdown." Parents looking at homes for sale in Chicago could consider looking at one of these prime neighborhoods for families.

The Huff Post released a series of comments regarding the various neighborhoods recently. The comment shared about the Beverly neighborhood was, "It is still a place where you can let your nine year old ride their bike around the neighborhood alone or go to the park without an escort."

Explore Chicago states that Beverly is known for its "architectural riches and its strong Irish heritage." The neighborhood is located on the far South Side of the city. People looking for houses for sale in Chicago can find "stately homes" by the likes of Frank Lloyd Wright in Beverly, many Irish pubs lining the street and, surprisingly, a castle. Built in 1886, the castle sits "royally" above Longwood Drive and "has the look of an impregnable Irish country stronghold," according to the source.
