Beacon Hill condo inventory is significantly down in 2012

Consider the qualities you look for in town you want to move to - it should have a superior education system, well-balanced demographic and is close to essential amenities. In the Hub, there are many neighborhoods that fit this description, but you may be most interested in the homes for sale in Boston near Beacon Hill.

This neighborhood is situated on a hill close to the famous Boston Common and the State House. When you walk up and down the narrow streets, you not only get a workout, but you're greeted with a plethora of stunning condos that, in some cases, were designed and built over a hundred years ago. Beacon Hill often attracts an affluent homebuying crowd, and some of the city's local public figures live in the tight-knit community.

However, inventory in downtown Boston's condo market has fallen off the past few years. Currently there are only 693 units for sale, which is down to 3.1 months, The Boston Herald reports. A healthy housing market typically features an available inventory of between five and six months.

Investing in property located near Beacon Hill may be a sound purchase, but you'll want to shop now, as available homes for sale are low.
