Head to the south of San Francisco for a new house
Homes for sale in the Bay Area are found in a variety of locales and small neighborhoods, and each community experiences its own real estate ups and downs. Purchasing trends are continuing to shift as the national economy recovers, and right now, interest is ballooning to the south of the San Francisco metro area.
The borders of San Mateo County stretch from around the Daly City area to the distant south, as far away as the Big Basin Redwoods National Park. There is a ton of neighborhoods within this expansive district, and many homes fetch above-average asking prices.
For example, the San Mateo Department of Housing publishes a quarterly report on the local real estate market, and the June 2012 edition showed that the median price of a single-family home rose by 2.4 percent from 2011. In addition, the one-year change in family income experienced an overall increase of above 1 percent, which is indicative of an improving job market and regional quality of life.
If you are thinking about relocating to the greater Bay Area, consider checking out some of the available property in San Mateo County. Plenty of homes are within commuting distance to San Francisco, perfect if you have a job downtown.
