Great neighborhood for families in San Francisco

San Francisco residents about to start a family or who are outgrowing their homes may want to check out neighborhoods labeled as "kid friendly." While San Francisco’s southwestern corner is often ignored by city tour books, it is conveniently located within easy commuting distance of the city and features numerous perks.

The neighborhood of Outer Richmond is especially nice for families. According to GreatSchools.org, 30 percent of homes in the area have children and 20 schools have attained a near-perfect rating. The community is relatively quiet, except on Irving Street, which is considered to be the area's main street. A majority of the people that live in the neighborhood are employed in healthcare, education and firefighting, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

In addition, Outer Richmond has a nice blend of urban amenities and natural spaces. Residents may enjoy the paths that have been paved for jogging, running and biking, as well as the area beach. Consider checking out homes for sale in the Bay Area to find the one that meets the needs of a growing family.
