Celebrate the summer in San Francisco

After purchasing one of the homes for sale in the Bay Area, it is a grand idea to take a tour of the city and explore the local culture. During the summer, there are many events held throughout the metro. Consider checking out the festivals, discovering new bands and making new friends.

Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival
Check out the vibrant music scene at this fun, friendly festival. From August 10, 2012 to August 12, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Golden Gate Park, dozens of bands will be playing their hearts out. The event is complete with food, wine, beer and art for those who want to spend their time taking in something other than music. However, the band lineup is so impressive that you may not be able to drag yourself away. Headliners include Metallica, Passion Pit, Stevie Wonder, Beck, Santigold and dozens more. When live-band musicians aren’t playing, performances and DJs will be filling the air with sweet sounds.

Stern Grove Festival
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Stern Grove Festival. The event started with the intention of providing Bay Area residents with free access to diverse performing arts. Since then, a beautiful outdoor amphitheater is filled with locals and artists in celebration. Located at the 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard on August 26, 2012, the event will include a wide variety of concerts and picnic foods.

Free Shakespeare in the Park
Elizabethans rejoice because throughout the summer, Free Shakespeare in the Park will be playing in the city. Plays are performed by a traveling local troupe in different locations in the summer and early fall. The tradition started in 1983 with the debut production of The Tempest in the Golden Gate Park. Since then, the acts have developed and locals and visitors are encouraged to take time to join a professional theater group and watch an engaging performance. The plays are free and 2012’s production is Henry V.

Real estate in San Francisco is surrounded by unique activities geared to create a sense of community for locals and inspire a love of art in any form. Remember to check out one of these events or others this summer.
