Austin home sales increase 20 percent in July
When you purchase one of the homes for sale in Austin, it's likely that you'll become a resident of a booming metro that continues to expand. The city's housing market reflects Austin's growth, and remains a major factor in the local economy's success.
Recent real estate data reflects the city's strong sales. According to the Austin-American Statesman, the city's home sales increased 20 percent between June 2012 and July 2012. Additionally, the median price for houses in the area increased 9 percent during the same time frame.
"These results show that Austin's summer selling season continues to be strong this year," a local real estate expert told the news outlet. "In terms of sales volume, this has been the strongest July the Austin market has seen since 2007, and it's the second-highest median price seen in July during the last decade."
Austin, the capital of Texas, is considered to be a fun place for many homeowners and visitors. The city is the 16th largest in the United States, and boasts a variety of music spots, restaurants and sports venues unique to the area.
