What are some of the top summer events in Atlanta?

You'll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the summer weather when you purchase one of the homes for sale in Atlanta. This city features a wide range of seasonal events that highlight the area's diverse culture and history.

Atlanta Tattoo Expo
The 16th Annual Atlanta Tattoo Expo will take place June 29 to July 1, 2012, at the Crown Plaza Marietta at 6345 Powers Ferry Road. This three-day event includes over 50 world-class tattoo artists who will showcase their talents to Atlanta residents.

You can spend a day or  the entire weekend at this expo, as the event features a shopping bazaar, live music and parties. You can get a tattoo from high-quality professionals, meet celebrity guests or simply enjoy a fun summer afternoon while supporting a good cause at this event.

Twenty percent of expo proceeds will benefit the Tony Olivas Medical Fund, a nonprofit that has supported local tattoo artist Tony Olivas during his recovery from a life-threatening condition. Donations from the expo will be used to help uninsured tattoo professionals in need of medical assistance.

Heritage Arts Festival
Check out the Heritage Arts Festival at Underground Atlanta in the Alley, Alabama Street Southwest, to enjoy a creative experience during Independence Day Weekend. The event runs from July 4 to July 8, 2012, and includes more than 50 booths with unique artifacts, beauty products and jewelry.

The 17th annual festival will deliver art, film screenings and blues that showcase the city's one-of-a-kind culture and history. National and international booths offer stage plays, story tellings and book signings, while shops and restaurants will help you celebrate your holiday weekend. You can even take a self-guided walking history tour, "From Civil War to Civil Rights," to learn about the history of the area.
