Atlanta ranks fifth among cities with fastest-growing companies

Atlanta ranked fifth among cities with the most entries on a list of the fastest-growing companies in the country, according to Inc magazine. This is evidence of the booming economy of the city, which could lead to a surge in demand of homes for sale in Atlanta.

The magazine recently released its rankings of the 5,000 companies nationwide that were on the most positive upward trajectory of growth. These rankings were charted primarily through the companies' three-year growth in revenue. Atlanta, with 186 companies, ranked just behind New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Chicago among cities with the most companies on the list.

"Now, more than ever, we depend on Inc. 500 / 5000 companies to spur innovation, provide jobs and drive the economy forward," editor Eric Schurenberg said. "Growth companies, not large corporations, are where the action is."

Several large corporations have placed their headquarters in Atlanta, including Coca-Cola and Delta Airlines. The combination of small, fast-growing companies and large enterprises makes Atlanta a thriving city for businesses.
