"Bob was wonderful! Even though we had done A LOT of research into the process, as 1st time buyers, we needed some of the stuff explained to us. Bob was very knowledgable (especially since he'd been an appraiser in the past) and very patient with us. Besides this, he's also a great all-around guy! We bought a foreclosure, which is a bit different from buying a home from the homeowner. Even though our bid was accepted quickly, we had a signed contract early on and we got our inspection done right away, things slowed down a lot after that. It got to be almost comical (except that it really wasn't) ... every time our mortgage broker told us that we were done and that we'd be able to schedule the closing in a few days, something else would come up ... nothing to do with us or our credit ... either new documents or checks being required due to the changes in the mortgage industry because of the mess that the industry is in...During all this craziness, there were so many different people scrambling trying to cover their butts and get this thing done (and off their desks once and for all!) it was amazing ... all over one person's careless error (and lack of double checking their work)! The sale was finally closed 11 days after the original closing date. Through all this, Bob was right there by our sides and in close contact. He sure earned his commission on this one! We love him and we will definitely use him again! After the dust settles on this transaction, we're going to look into buying some investment property(ies) and look forward to working with Bob again ... hope he feels the same way! Oh, and, yes, it is nice to get the rebate that is unique to ZipRealty (at least, I haven't seen anyone else offering anything like that!).
