In 1997 my former employer began making plans to either sell his business or retire. I had been his secretary/records clerk for 26 years. Either of these scenarios would mean that I would need a new job or a new career.
As one of the sources of income for the above mentioned business had been from the buying and selling of real estate, I approached his Realtor about determining what would be necessary for me to become a Realtor. As she was a managing Broker for a firm, she informed me that if I would obtain a salesperson's license, she would hire me on a part time basis until my former employer either sold his business or retired.
In February of 1998, after obtaining my salesperson's license, I began working five mornings per week in the real estate office. I continued to work part time until shortly after my former employer died in 2001. I then changed my status to a full time employee of the real estate firm and remained there until December 31, 2008.
Why, you may ask, is it important for me to tell you this story? My answer to that question is that it shows, by the length of time involved, that I am dependable, responsible, trustworthy and have the ability to work with others. I love people and love helping them to achieve their dreams. I work long hours to make sure that clients are satisfied with their sale or purchase transactions.
As I believe that the internet is "the way of the future", I have chosen to join ZipRealty, Inc., who are leaders in that market. By doing so, I will be better able to serve clients, both former and new, in a much better way, to reach their goals.
