When I first started looking on the internet for homes some two years ago, ZipRealty offered me access to their informative and interactive web site. During my exhaustive search I looked at hundreds of homes on the web site through the detailed search tools. I knew the geographic area I wanted to live in, so the area map showing homes for sale by neighborhood was very helpful. In all honesty, in the beginning, I had no intention of going with ZipRealty when I found my future home. Heck, what did I know about ZipRealty or you for that matter? A web based realty service that kicked back a portion of the purchase price? Sounded good but I had "kick back" associated with poor service and inexperienced professionals. Boy, you proved me wrong. From our first meeting I felt at ease with your personality, knowledge of the property in question, and overall neighborhood market conditions. You took the time to listen to everything I had to say about the property and asked questions of myself that made me think of other issues that I had not thought of. Additionally, you made a smart recommendation of a sewer line inspection that ended up saving me $2k in repair bills--I would have never thought it necessary to inspect the sewer line. For financing ideas, you made referrals which opened up my search window allowing me to secure the best possible loan. When I was down to the final two financing companies, you recommended asking the lender to waive the appraisal and credit check fees which they did. I saved $620.00 for the appraisal and $35.00 for the credit check. Hey, I know that's not a lot of money but it will help with some of the new carpet costs. Again, I would have never asked for the lender to cover those costs. Does Al Gore know how much paper is consumed when someone purchases a house? Your daily follow though with the paper flow of disclosures, inspection reports, indemnifications, etc etc etc was great. You carried me though the process with ease and were always able to answer fully any questions I had concerning the many documents that needed to be processed. We had a moment during the process that I thought you handled very well. It was when we were going back and forth with the sellers over inspection repairs. We spoke about what I was willing to accept and not accept as to repairs and we agreed to compromise in the middle on some items. I then called you back shortly after our discussion and told you it was not sitting right with me concerning the concessions. You then went to bat for me with the sellers and got what I felt was fair. No heavy sigh into the phone, no attitude, just good honest effort to make things right.
