Lanny Baker
Chief Executive Officer, President, Director
As the Chief Executive Officer and President, Lanny Baker serves on the Board of Directors and is responsible for the company vision, planning, and strategy in addition to oversight of the Company's day to day operations. Mr. Baker served as the Company's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since December 2008, and he will remain the acting Chief Financial Officer until his successor is appointed.
Prior to joining ZipRealty, Lanny was Chief Financial Officer of Monster Worldwide, the global leader in online recruitment. In addition to managing financial operations and external reporting for the $1.2 billion publicly traded company, Lanny also directed Monster's long-term strategic and financial planning activities, which led to a series of important acquisitions, partnerships, and capital allocation decisions. These included expansion in Korea and China, partnerships with major newspaper chains, and the sale of all non-Internet businesses. Lanny also led the redesign of Monster's performance-based compensation programs and significantly refined the company's business metrics, managerial objectives, and investor relations activities.
Earlier in his career, Lanny spent sixteen years as a top-rated sell-side research analyst and is known for his insight on the Internet/Online Media sector, which he covered from 1998 to 2005. As an analyst, Lanny was intimately involved in initial and secondary public offerings for many Internet and media companies, as well as large strategic acquisitions and investments.
Lanny is a native of San Francisco and graduate of Yale College. He also serves TheKnot.com (NASDAQ: KNOT) as Chair of the Audit and Nominating Committees of the Board of Directors.
Elisabeth DeMarse
Director
Elisabeth DeMarse joined the ZipRealty Board of Directors in July 2005. She is currently CEO of Newser, an online news aggregator. Ms. DeMarse has previously served as CEO and President of Creditcards.com, an internet based provider of consumer credit card offerings, and as Chief Executive Officer and Board member of Bankrate Inc., an internet based consumer banking marketplace. A member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, DeMarse has extensive leadership and operating expertise in the financial sphere, including previous executive-level positions at Hoovers Inc., Bloomberg L.P. and Citicorp. DeMarse received her Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She also serves on the Board of Directors for both EDGAR-Online and All Star Directories. She is a member of The Committee of 200.
Robert C. Kagle
Director
Robert C. Kagle has served on the board of directors since November 1999. Mr. Kagle has been a General Partner of Benchmark Capital Management Co., LLC, since its founding in May 1995 and a General Partner of Technology Venture Investors since January 1984. Mr. Kagle also serves on the boards of directors of eBay Inc., Jamba Juice and Prosper. Mr. Kagle holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical and mechanical engineering from the General Motors Institute (renamed Kettering University in January 1998).
Stanley M. Koonce, Jr.
Director
Stanley M. Koonce, Jr. has served on the board of directors since May 2004. Mr. Koonce has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America since June 2002. From April 2001 to April 2002, Mr. Koonce was President and Chief Executive Officer of Venue Ticket Exchange, a sports ticketing company. From September 2000 to May 2002, Mr. Koonce was Chairman of AIVIA, a software and web development company. Mr. Koonce holds a Masters of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Gary A. Wetsel
Director
Gary A. Wetsel has served on the Board of Directors since May 2007 and is an independent consultant. From April 2002 to December 2004, Mr. Wetsel served as Executive Vice President, Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of Aspect Communications Corporation, a provider of enterprise customer contact solutions, where he remained as a consultant until his retirement in March 2005. Mr. Wetsel has held senior executive positions with several other high-tech companies, including Zhone Technologies, Inc., WarpSpeed Communications Corp., Wyse Technology, Inc., Borland International, Inc., Octel Communications Corporation and Ungermann-Bass, Inc. Mr. Wetsel previously served on the boards of directors and audit committees of LookSmart Ltd. and Blue Martini Software, Inc. Mr. Wetsel is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Bentley College.
